FUTURE EVENTS
On May 7, Watertown Town Historian Stephanie Lantierre of the CT Gravestone Network will lead a cemetery walk and talk. Stephanie was recently honored with a prestigious Award of Merit by the American Association for State and Local History at their National Conference held in Detroit, Michigan. The Award was for her leadership and dedication to improving the professional practices of the Avery Memorial Association.
Other annual events to be scheduled include the annual flea market in the spring and the peach festival at the end of the summer. The annual members meeting will be held in November and will feature a special program of interest to members and friends.
In addition, the Homestead will continue to be open the first and third Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. Also weaving programs for youth & adults and special programs for scouts are available upon request throughout the year.

The Twitchell-Rowland Homestead Museum offers changing displays representing the history of a rural New England town once dotted with farms and small mills, housed in a 1755 saltbox farmhouse.
Current exhibits include “From the Early American Workbench”, a collection of antique tools on loan from Rob Buck. Museum admission free. Hours: 2-4 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month or by appointment. Info: 203 888-0230.

The Oxford Historical Society will sponsor its fifth annual Old Homestead Flea Market on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00. p.m. at the Twitchell-Rowland Museum, 60 Towner Lane in Oxford.
The Society is seeking vendors to purchase spaces measuring 10'x10' at $15.00 each. Application forms are available on the Oxford Historical Society website HERE or by calling Jane Hulbert at 203-734-4446. The deadline for making a space reservation is Monday, June 19, 2016.

The second Annual Fiber Fest will be held April 22 and 23 at the Twitchell-Rowland Homestead. Hours are 10am to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Noon to 4 pm on Sunday. We are seeking volunteers to demonstrate fiber crafts, including spinning, weaving, natural dyes, and other authentic crafts.
