Peach Festival People's
Favorites Photos Announced
One photo
in each category were selected as the People's Favorites,
including Favorite Animals today, Heritage Animals and Oxford
Olde Tyme Fair photos. In addition, those photos who received
nearly as many votes as the category winners were given
Honorable Mention.
The
People's Favorite heritage animal photowas a snapshot from the Nyberg
family photo collection of three
donkeys at Jack's Hill Donkey Farm. Honorable Mention went to a
Loretta Dempsey photo of beekeeper Stanley Popowski, Sr.,taken in
1977; and three other Nyberg Family photos, featuring Eleanor
Nybergwith
pupppies in a wheelbarrow, cats sitting on a
sleigh looking out a windowand Alice Nyberg
seated on her donkey "Pinocchio."
The
People's Favorite Animals of Oxford Todaywas a photo of her English
Angora rabbit, taken by Jennifer
East. Honorable
Mention went to Elaine Serus Baron
for her photo of a Tiger Swallowtailon a
butterlfy bush; Also to Dorothy Valee, for her
photo of her draft horse hitch; Dorothy
DeBisschop for a photo of wild turkeys; Kevin W. Warholareceived four honorable mentions for his
photos, including a raccoon
in a tree, a ladybug on a
daisy,a chipmunk,
and one of a red fox.
There were over 100 photos in the
Oxford Olde Tyme Fair
Category. The People's
Favorite, and the two runners-up with Honorable Mention were
all taken by the Rev. Fred Kuhlman. The
Favorite featured a photo of a sleeping
pig. The Honorable Mentions went to a photo of sheeplooking out a pen, and two pigs sleeping
side-by-side.
